JS Online: Teacher arrested in Web posting
Wow! Two posts in one day! Anyway, this story is about a teacher who has been arrested for saying inappropriate things (possible death threats) in an online forum. His posting contained spelling and gramatical errors.
JS Online: Teacher arrested in Web posting Larsen, the Oak Creek superintendent, said she talked with Buss before his arrest Thursday. She declined to say whether Buss disclosed his motivation for the posting. “It’s very disappointing,” Larsen said. “It’s not something you would expect a teacher to do. This does not reflect on the quality of teachers in our schools.”
Well, actually, Ms. Larsen, this does reflect on the quality of teachers in our schools. In fact, it reflects badly on the quality of said teachers.
I would not want to generalize about school superintendents based upon the example of Ms. Larsen, but if the quote is accurate, her use of language does not reflect well upon the quality of school administrators.
