BBC NEWS | Business | CIA ‘launches Facebook for spies’

Perhaps the most delicious (no pun or reference intended. Honest!) irony here is the potential for the dissemination of false information amongst the intelligence agencies. If I understand correctly, and this is intended to be an international interagency arrangement there can be little attention given to validating the info presented. Now, I could be wrong. The subhead says:

The CIA is to open a communications tool for its staff

but later in the story it says:

Mr Wertheimer added that while it had looked for collaboration from overseas, foreign intelligence agencies had been “the folks most virulently against” sharing information through an “intelligence library”.

Perhaps that just indicates that they had wanted it to be international, but now it won’t be?
